Tip #6 - How I Freeze & Cut Ice Pops

Jun 28, 2013
Other Tips, Misc, House

When it's hot out, there is nothing better than eating a frozen ice pop. I like to let them melt just a little so it's almost like a slushy. It's just frozen kool-aid, but they are good.

Now you may think that ice pops aren't difficult to freeze and eat. Just stick it in the freezer and then cut the top off when you want one, right? Well I thought you want to learn about how I freeze and then cut them.

Freeze Ice Pops Upright

The most important thing when freezing them is to put them in the freezer standing up. That way when you cut them, you don't have to cut through part of the ice pop itself. It keeps the scissors cleaner, it doesn't make as much of a mess, and you get just a little more ice pop to eat!

Cut Ice Pops Semi-circle

Now, how to cut them. Straight across? I like to cut the tops off in a semi-circle. One thing about eating them when I was younger always bothered me, the sharp corners! I knew I was going to cut my mouth sooner or later. That's why I cut the tops off in a semi-circle. Ahhh. I won't cut myself now!

Well, you better get some ice pops now and get them in the freezer because this next week is going to be a hot one!
